Run 4 Rwanda – Godfrey’s Kitchen and the Village of Hope

Congratulations to Team TH who took part in the Bournemouth Marathon Festival at the weekend, and raised valuable funds for Godfrey’s Kitchen in Rwanda.

Godfrey Karema, founder of the Rwandan charity Godfrey’s Kitchen, is visiting Talbot Heath this week, and for over a decade the TH community has been proud to support Godfrey’s incredible work, which provides vital nutrition and education to children in Rwanda.

Upper 6 pupil, Shakira B, alongside, other sixth form students and staff, organised Team TH to participate in the Run Bournemouth Supernova 5km 2024 to raise funds for Godfrey’s Kitchen. The original target of £2000 has already been smashed – it currently stands at £2,265 – and the aim is to provide essential resources for the children and families living in the Village of Hope, Nyanza, Rwanda.

The sixth form Rwanda Committee, has three targets: to fundraise to feed all the children in the village; to provide funds to send each child to school, and to educate and inform those at Talbot Heath about Rwanda’s challenges and culture. Thanks go to everyone who has donated and to all of the staff and pupils who have supported the run.
