Congratulations to both TH tennis teams for a very successful weekend at the National Tennis Finals in Bolton.
The Year 9 and 10 tennis team – Sophia S, Keira C, Iraja N, Emily J, and Morgan M – were runners up, and the Year 7 and 8 team – Dani B, Sophie M, Poppy Kate E, Lizzie C and Lara M – retained their National title! It was a fantastic weekend of tennis, and the girls played some absolutely amazing tennis, showing great team work and once again, representing the school so well.
Thanks go to the PE staff for all their support since the competition started in April and to Liz Fox and Lou Lindon for travelling to Bolton with Sarah Camp to support the team. Finally thanks to all other staff who have supported the girls around school both pastorally and academically. It’s a team effort!
TH Head, Tracy Harris, congratulated everyone involved: ‘It’s a fantastic achievement! Again TH excelled on this national platform which is amazing for a small single sex school. It is in no small part the culture and hard work that all staff have put in over time. Thank you to all staff who encourage, organise, transport, mentor and otherwise support these girls to be able to excel in their tennis and wider school life.’
Head of Sport Lou Lindon added: ‘It has been a real team effort so thank you to everyone involved especially Liz Fox and Sarah Camp.’
