Congratulations to everyone who was involved in Talbot Heath’s supercalifragilisticexpialidocious production of “Mary Poppins JR.,” – the exciting stage adaptation of the classic tales of Mary Poppins, that was staged this week.
Creative Directors, Mrs Corlett and Mr Hall stated how proud they were of everyone involved, and thanked everyone in the cast and production crew for their hard work and dedication to the production; from the talented ensemble and dance leads, the creative team and support staff. It was certainly a memorable and colourfully joyful experience for the audiences: practically perfect in every way!
Praising the pupils in the creative team, Mrs Corlett said: ‘Our Creative team is comprised of a fantastic group of talented pupils in Years 10-13, studying either Music or Drama at GCSE and A-Level. This production has been led by them from the initial audition and casting stages; through every rehearsal leading choreography, teaching harmonies and blocking scenes; to the final details of costume, set, lighting, props, sound design and stage management. Every step of the way they have been there to shape the production into the fabulous show it has become. This team have worked tirelessly to inspire and lead the cast, and it has been wonderful to see all our pupils build in confidence and develop long friendships with another.’
School chaplain, Revd. Burke commented on how wonderful the show was, ‘Thank you to all who have made the Mary Poppins experience so vibrant and enchanting. It was a pleasure to watch.’ And Headteacher, Mrs Harris, also thanked the staff: ‘Huge thanks to the music department who have been working tirelessly for weeks and months to put on a first ‘middle school’ style production of Mary Poppins.’
Special thanks go to the parents for supporting rehearsals, in order to make this production possible. Thanks also go, of course, to Mrs Corlett and Mr Hall for their time and dedication, and to all of the staff who gave up their time to help backstage and who watched the performances, giving the cast the warm support they deserved.
