2023 – starting on January 22nd – is the year of the Rabbit, and Lower 42P led an entertaining school assembly, highlighting how the Chinese New Year is celebrated. The Chinese zodiac is represented through 12 animals: Rat, Ox, Tiger, Rabbit, Dragon, Snake, Horse, Goat, Monkey, Rooster, Dog, and Pig, and students, masked as different animals, offered character traits for each one. Audience members were challenged to identify their own animal-character traits depending on their year of birth.
It was a fun and educational assembly; thanks go to Mrs Newcombe for her organisation. Further celebrations took place during lunch, thanks to the Holroyd Howe team cooking a tasty and traditional Chinese meal.
