Sponsorship by page, reading time per week and payment per book, were some of the methods used by Upper 3 to raise money for the annual national Read for Good challenge that was launched earlier this term.
An array of genres were read over the two-week challenge, and valuable funds raised thanks to the superb efforts of pupils, staff and parents. Collectively the girls read 113 books and have raised £270.00 for the Read for Good charity.
As always, the school likes to recognize individual achievements and give special acknowledgements to particular girls in the year group for their impressive fundraising and reading efforts. The Literary Merit award recognizes individual achievement with reading.
They are as follows:

Each of the prize-winners receive a book token and all participants receive a certificate. Well done and thank you to all of the girls who participated. Grateful thanks also go to the Upper 3 parents and sponsors and to the English staff for their continued support with fundraising and promoting reading in school and at home.
Mrs Boyington began running Read for Good at TH in 2000, and the overall total that the school community has raised since then is now £22,122.00!
