A Hive of Activity – TH Opening of EYFS Play Area

Members of the school community were delighted to officially open the EYFS play area this week, named ‘The Hive’, at the new Talbot Heath nursery.

The new play equipment was specially designed by ‘Tree Hive’ to be sustainable, fitting into the beautiful woodland surroundings and facilitating physical and social activities for the youngest pupils and has been meticulously crafted to promote various physical development skills. It will be encouraging the children to climb, balance, and travel in a variety of ways. ‘The Hive’ is not just about individual play, it is also a dynamic space for teamwork and social interaction; children will have the opportunity to collaborate, share, and learn from one another in this fun and engaging environment.

Junior School Head, Mrs Liz Pugh, said, ‘Whether they’re scaling a climbing wall or mastering the art of balance, our little ones will be developing not just their motor skills but also their confidence as they navigate the different challenges the play area presents. We are extremely  grateful to our PSS, who work tirelessly to raise money for our school, and fully funded this project.’

Mrs Pugh and the nursery children were joined by Headteacher, Mrs Tracy Harris, Governors, members of the PSS and Andy Ford from ‘Tree Hive’ at the opening ceremony.
