Godfrey Karema sends a special update from Rwanda following his visit to TH before half-term:
‘Through a generous donation from Mr Duncan’s family, AFC Bournemouth and Talbot Heath School, children in our Saturday Program now enjoy new football outfits and equipment. This support goes far beyond just play — it’s a tool for nurturing physical well-being, mental resilience, and social skills essential for both their school and personal lives. Playing football provides these children with an active outlet that reduces stress and enhances focus, which are invaluable for success in the classroom.
‘By engaging in structured team sports, the kids also learn cooperation, leadership, and perseverance, carrying these traits into their academic journeys. The new gear brings a sense of pride and belonging, inspiring their commitment and self-confidence. This partnership highlights the profound impact that recreational resources can have on young lives, underscoring the importance of play in holistic child development. As the children step onto the field each Saturday, they’re not only participating in a game — they’re building a foundation for well-being, resilience, and future success.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to AFC Bournemouth and Talbot Heath School for their generous support, which truly transforms the lives of these children and empowers them to reach their full potential.’
