Congratulations to all of the pupils who competed in the Milton Abbey cross-country event last week. The teams were comprised of runners from Year 6, 7 and 8 and as a result, four girls have been selected to go to the National Cross-Country Championships in West Sussex on 15 March. They are: Jemima C in the Junior girls, Immy T in the Intermediate girls and Nancy T and E Wells in the Senior girls’ race. This follows their qualification races at the Dorset Championships and representing Dorset in the South-West Championships in Newquay, Cornwall.
The Year 6 team won the team race and individual placings were Nyah H 1st place; Jemima B 2nd; Sophie D 3rd and Polly W 5th. In the Year 7 race, Polina K was placed 1st individually. A fantastic achievement for each of the pupils! Grateful thanks go to Mrs Newcombe for her continued support and organisation, and good luck to all girls next weekend.
