Yesterday, members of the Talbot Heath community welcomed an exciting visitor: Zack George, AKA, ‘Steel’ from the BBC series Gladiators. He shared his inspirational story with the pupils, supporting the school’s whole school wellbeing message by delivering workshops to KS1, KS2 and KS3 pupils.
Workshops focused on developing confidence, self-belief, analysing body language, having a growth mindset and the importance of a balanced and healthy lifestyle. The girls all had an opportunity to ask questions, and spent time seeking autographs and taking photographs with this inspirational Gladiator.
Zack enjoyed lunch in the senior dining room, before giving all pupils personalised water bottles to encourage them to stay hydrated. Students and staff are all now looking forward to cheering him on when Gladiators returns to the screen in the New Year. Grateful thanks go to the superb PSS who funded the event for the girls.
Here are some of the comments from U4 pupils:

‘Apart from changing my perspective of TV, Steel was very inspirational and such a uniquely fun experience. I’m glad we had this fabulous opportunity.’ Elkie S
