Two summer concerts have been held in succession to celebrate the talents of both Key Stage 3 and Junior students…
Last week, the Music Department hosted a Key Stage 3 Concert showcasing solos from 17 students across Years 7, 8 and 9. These students have been learning with the TH peri staff this year and were selected to perform due to the excellent progress they have continued to make. The audience were entertained with a range of musical styles and instruments and each student took the time to introduce their piece and enjoyed their moment in the spotlight. A big thank you to all our peri staff for supporting the girls with their pieces and providing accompaniment on the night. Well done KS3!
At the end the week, the Music Department were busy again hosting the Junior Ensemble Concert in the HUB. Students from Year 2 – 6 who have been committed members of ensembles this year, showcased a variety of pieces on their instruments to a packed audience. There were performances from the Nova Orchestra, Woodwind groups, Recorder ensemble and Choirs. There was also welcome support from a few of the senior musicians in the Brass Group and Percussion Ensemble performances. Year 6 drama students Peyton and Morgan introduced each act and compered with confidence and humour. The evening was a lovely way to celebrate the musical talent developing in the Junior School and this was further highlighted by the two selected soloists Poppy and Lucy.
Well done to all involved and a big thank you to all of the peri staff for their support. Thanks also go to Mrs Corlett and Mr Hall for their time and organisation.
