Pre-Prep Students Spark Creativity in Exciting STEAM Session

This week, the Design Room buzzed with energy and curiosity as Pre-Prep students immersed themselves in a thrilling STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics) session. The activities were designed to ignite young minds, foster creativity, and encourage hands-on learning.

Year 2 students took their first electrifying steps into the world of circuits! Using electro-conductive playdough, these young engineers learned how to build working electric circuits. Their bright ideas and teamwork earned them the coveted “Electronic Superstar” certificates, recognizing their innovative spirit and problem-solving skills.

Year 1 students reached for the sky as they explored the principles of building tall structures. In a double challenge, they first constructed the tallest tower they could using only balloons, testing balance and stability. Next, they tackled the challenge of building towering structures from nothing but paper, pushing the limits of creativity and engineering. The classroom was filled with excitement as students raced against time to build higher and stronger!

Our youngest learners in Reception took part in an engaging engineering carousel of hands-on activities. From working with gears to mastering nuts and bolts, these budding engineers explored the mechanics of how things move and fit together.

With certificates earned, towers built, and gears turning, our young innovators are well on their way to becoming the problem-solvers and creators of the future! Thanks go to Mr Morris and Design department for their innovative and exciting lessons.
