Thanks go to Talbot Heath school governor and GP, Richard Day, consultant, Tim Battcock and three junior doctors, who gave up their time to interview seven future medical students in Upper 6 last week, in support of their university medical applications. The students are applying for a range of specialisms which include medicine, physiotherapy, dentistry, bio-medical sciences and nursing. One of the junior doctors, was former pupil Sara Memon, who left TH in 2016, and who is now doing her Foundation 1 year at the Royal Bournemouth Hospital and is intending to specialise in eye surgery.
Sara attended Talbot Heath in 2001 in Kindergarten and went all the way through the school to Year 13 when she left with three A-levels in Biology, Chemistry and French and AS-level Geography. Mr Cradick, who taught Sara, said he was very proud and pleased to see her and glad to see she is clearly enjoying her medical career.
Grateful thanks go to each of the specialists and doctors for giving up their time to run these valuable interview sessions, and to Madame Klemz for organising the morning. The school community would like to wish the hopeful medical students the best of luck with their applications.
