The latest STEM club competition took place this week and the results were amazing. Pupils were challenged to create a wind turbine which would be capable of lifting the greatest mass from the floor to a table top when blasted with air from a hair dryer. They spent weeks in groups refining their blade designs. All pupils worked exceptionally well and produced some very surprising results. The overall winners were Hazel, Kelly and Ice from Upper 5 whose design managed to lift 70 marbles clear off the floor – Marbleous!
STEM club has nearly 40 members and is going from strength to strength. Well done to all who took part. Next week we are attending the annual Rotary competition at BCS school. Good luck to all who are taking part. Thanks go to Head of Design, Mr Morris for organising the event.
