We are thrilled to announce that in January 2025, Talbot Heath School will be opening Talbot Heath Nursery, welcoming girls from the age of 2. Nestled within our school’s beautiful forest site in Talbot Woods, the nursery will provide a unique, home-from-home environment where young minds can flourish, sparked by curiosity, adventure, and compassion.
One of the most exciting elements that sets Talbot Heath Nursery apart is our Forest School. Every Friday, our little learners will embark on outdoor adventures during Forest School sessions. These experiences are designed to encourage independence, resilience, and a deeper love for nature. Through activities in our woodland, children will gain confidence as they navigate risk-taking and problem-solving in a safe, nurturing space.
Alongside the nursery, we’re continuing to run our popular Family and Toddler Group, Honey Bees, which welcomes babies and children up to 4 years old every Friday during term time. Honey Bees provides a special place where families can enjoy activities with their toddlers in the same lovely setting that our Nursery and Early Years children explore.
At Talbot Heath Nursery, we focus on child-led learning, sparking children’s curiosity and creativity with a curriculum tailored to each young learner. Our specialist Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) teacher will guide the children through an engaging program that covers all seven areas of the Early Years framework, placing special emphasis on language development with storytelling, nursery rhymes, and oracy activities.
Another distinctive aspect of Talbot Heath Nursery is our “kindness curriculum.” We encourage children to share, listen, and build strong relationships with their peers, promoting empathy and cooperation in every interaction.
We’re also pleased to offer financial flexibility to families, with Early Years funding and childcare vouchers accepted. Our nursery fees are VAT-exempt, providing parents with peace of mind as they invest in their child’s education.
“We are absolutely delighted to be launching Talbot Heath Nursery, where our youngest learners will thrive in an enriching, supportive, and engaging early years environment,” says Liz Pugh, Head of Junior School. “Our focus on child-led learning, outdoor exploration, and values-based education ensures that every child flourishes both academically and emotionally.”
