Applicants must meet the entry rating and ranking criteria which is reviewed each year.  Applicants under 11 must have a World Tennis Number of 31.0 or better by the April prior to the year 7 entry and/or be ranked in the top 50 11U players in the country.  Players still competing at the 10U level, must be in the top 30 on the 10U LTA recent form list.  

Entry into other years is by application and players must meet the age group criteria set. 

Applicants will be required to attend a trial day / school visit prior to this application deadline and will be required to sit the Talbot Heath entrance exam in January. 

Those Academy applicants who are successful with the school entrance exam  will be invited to attend a tennis assessment day during January at The West Hants Club. Date to be advised each year. 

Any player accepted onto the Tennis Academy will receive up to 50% discount on the tuition fees set by the school.   

WEST HANTS TENNIS ACADEMY FEES

Academy fees are termly and paid directly to The West Hants Club.  

The tennis fees are separate to tuition fees and reviewed each year by the West Hants Club and there is a set price for the core programme on offer.  Additional hours can be added to this which will be charged at the standard Academy rates. 

From September 2024 tennis fees are set at £2800 per term (depending on term length and programme hours) 

In year 9 and thereafter when the player will be expected to increase the number of training hours per week the cost will increase depending on the programme agreed.

Tuition fees and boarding fees (where appropriate) are by arrangement with the school directly. 

SCHOOL FEES

Up to 50% off tuition fees for  academy players by agreement of the Head.

Any player who withdraws from the programme without a full term’s notice in writing will be liable to pay for one term’s fees of the programme in line with the school’s terms and conditions. 

WHAT IS NOT INCLUDED? 

The Academy programme and tennis fees do not include tournament trips, training camps, accommodation or tournament entry fees.   

This programme is for term time only (in line with the HPC programme dates) and excludes any weekends or holiday periods. During holiday times players in the Academy will be expected to pay their normal fees/expenses in line with the standard member rate. 

Additional sessions to the programme can be added, but will be invoiced over and above the set fee per term and at the standard Academy rates as detailed on the literature.  

Players receive a discount on physiotherapy treatment at the Club and a discount on racket stringing.
