On 14th March, 19 TH pupils participated in the annual Rotary Club Schools STEM Competition. Schools from across the local area took part, each challenged with solving an engineering problem under strict criteria and within a limited timeframe using constrained materials. This year’s task was to design a structure capable of launching a space capsule into orbit, with varying levels of complexity depending on the age group.
We are delighted to share that our students achieved outstanding results: a silver medal in Key Stage 3, a bronze medal in Key Stage 4, and a gold medal in Key Stage 5 — securing a clean sweep across the competition. The year 12s have only been coming to STEM club since September so a particularly impressive win for them. The KS5 team won £300 for the school and will get to keep the shield for a year once it has been engraved. Well done to Zuzanna, Caldia, Ice and Kelly.
A huge congratulations to all involved and another remarkable achievement for the TH STEM Club. Special thanks go to Mr Morris and to Mr. Dobree-Carey for their support on the trip and in the classroom.
