Pupils in Upper 3 3P took part in an exclusive online Readathon Summer Party this week, in partnership with Read for Good. Hundreds of schools took part in the event and Talbot Heath pupils were invited to this event as a thank you for recently taking part in Readathon, the annual sponsored read. They all enjoyed meeting – screen-to-screen – the fantasy author of the Hedgewitch series, Skye McKenna; Comics Laureate, Stephen Holland; and explored the world of poetry with Matt Goodfellow. Matt highlighted the importance of poetry to help immerse children in the world of words – Mrs Wakeling’s class, who are currently reading and writing poetry, found him especially fun and inspiring to watch.
Thanks go to the pupils and staff who took part in the workshop, and again to the pupils, parents and staff for supporting the Read for Good charity and promoting a love of reading beyond the curriculum at TH.
